The Worst Parenting Day EVER!!!

I had my first true experience with wanting to take my child's pain. She's of course fallen and gotten shots but nothing like today. Isabel was going up the steps (she'd only made it up 2 steps) from the basement and I was right there... I turned for a second to close the garage doors and the next thing I knew she was at the bottom of the steps. Face down. She was screaming of course and my heart was literally breaking. Not to mention I was petrified that she might have a concussion or worse a brain injury. It didn't take long for my tears to come. I felt so terrible. With the advice of my mom I made Isabel stay up for the next 2 hours for fear she would never wake up!

I just went and woke her up a few minutes ago just to make sure she would wake up... am I completely neurotic?

That image of my little baby on the bottom of the steps is imprinted in my mind. I still feel terrible.

Praise the Lord our sweet baby is as perfect as ever... with the exception of a nasty bruise!

Gymboree!

Today I went to my first Gymboree class. I really wasn't sure what to expect. And then I saw it... an entire tub full of balls! My mission at class was to see how many balls I could carry and still play on the toys. Let me tell you, it was a bit challenging at times. I go to go down the slides, climb through tunnels, play with a parachute, ride in the rowboat, go back and forth in the canoe, and climb. It was so much fun. Mommy says we're going to go back next week!

Out to dinner

We also decided to go out to dinner for mexican food... yummy!

Outdoor Fun...

Since mommy was leaving for Chicago the next morning I got to stay up extra late and play outside... it was fun.

Welcome Back PaPa

My PaPa finally returned from his mission trip to Belarus. As soon as I saw him I get my standard greeting... "There's Grandpa's girl!" I love it when I hear my PaPa say that. I'm not completely sure becasue sometimes he's a little cranky, but I'm pretty sure that PaPa kind of likes me!!

Abandoned for Chicago!

My mommy decided that she needed a little girl time and went to Chicago to visit her girlfriend Julie. Daddy and I bet $20 and a new outfit that mommy would be in tears at the airport. We knew for sure that there would be no stopping the waterworks with her... she cries at everything! I have to admit I was slightly offended when daddy and I just got a few sniffles. I mean, where were all of the tears! Apparently mommy was sad to leave us but also looking forward to a stress free few days. She was able to get a mani and pedi, go to the movies, and do some shopping. of course the majority of her shopping was for me. She even went to a boutique called Psycho Baby and got me a shirt! Mommy finally came home on Thursday... I was happy to see her but daddy is still my #1!

*storytime at the library
*swimming at the big pool
*Bump City at GAGE gymnastics

Mom's also got a ton more places to take me... I can't wait to hit the zoo!

A Night Out For Mommy and Daddy!

Isabel had her second sleep over at NaNa's Tuesday night while we went to Tim McGraw... her first sleep over was just 2 weeks ago! The concert was amazing!

Crib Climber...

Thursday morning I heard a thump followed by a cry... I assumed Isabel just hit herself on the crib but went to check anyway. To my horror and disbelief I found her tummy first on the floor. My heart was literally in my throat. As soon as I picked her up she stopped crying and has seemed fine. We both knew it was on the second to lowest setting but never even dreamt that she could climb out. Needless to say it is now as low as it will go. Hopefully there won't be anymore escaping.

Bye Bye PaPa

My PaPa Springate just left on a mission trip with our church to Belarus. I wasn't sure where that was so mommy pointed it out to me on a map... it's right on the western border of Russia. This will be PaPa's first plane ride and he'll be in the air for 19 hours!! We wanted to make sure he knew he was loved before leaving on such an important trip. Please keep my PaPa in your prayers.

What happened to my tootsies?

Mommy had painted her toe nails so daddy decided to do mine too! I wasn't a very good customer though. I got polish all over my toes and my legs. But, after some clean up they looked pretty good. And no, I'm not too young for painted toe nails!!

My Daddy's a United States Citizen!!

My daddy was born in the country that borders the United States to the south... it's called Mexico. That makes me part mexican!! I personally think it's really cool to be a part of 2 cultures and be bilingual. My daddy had his naturalization ceremony on Monday and he is now a US citizen. NaNa and I went to Municipal Auditorium to watch the ceremony. Did you know that there were 1,003 people from over 100 different countries becoming citizens of the United States? It was also the largest naturalization ceremony in history for western Missouri... and my daddy was a part of it! I'm so proud of you Daddy!

Fun in the Sun!

It's a Jungle Out There!!

I have the best daddy in the whole world! Mommy told him about a pool that would be perfect for me and he surprised me with it! Mommy and I had gone to the pool this week and it was super cold... so cold that we barely got in. Now we can put my little pool out in the sun and the water will be perfect.

13 Months Old...

It sounds so unbelievably strange to say that... 13 months! With every passing day she is doing something new and continuously amazing us. The most noticeable changes have been with what she's saying or at least trying to say. My niece recently asked me what her first word was and I couldn't say for sure. There were so many babbles that sounded like words but we were never sure! Some of the words in her growing vocabulary... poppy, baby, bye, hi, and bailey. She has also said si and leche but only once.

We finally got our pool cards today so hopefully we'll be trying out Izzy's new suit very soon!

Where's my treats?

Who says chairs are for sitting?

We've discovered in the past week or so that she would rather stand in her chair than sit in it. Yesterday she even took a pack of diapers from the closet, carried them into her playroom, put them next to the chair, and stood on the diapers to get into the chair. We might have a climber!

Who's That?

Isabel is definitely familiar with the mirror and was checking herself out!
