JaXoN's FiRsT DaY HoMe...

OOPS...

Another lesson learned in the life of a new mom... do not put the big sister in the crib the weekend before baby is born! Izzy wanted to check out Jax's new mobile and I thought it was harmless. I was wrong... she was obsessed for a couple of days. that obsession has now been replaced with the car seat.

Tunnel Voyage

We decided to make Sunday a family day for the 3 of us. The day was definitely a mix of emotions... the happiness that our little girl would soon have the best gift we could ever give her and the sadness that this was the last day our family would be made of three. We took Izzy to Tunnel Voyage in Lee's Summit and she LOVED it. She's a huge fan of slides! Afterwards we went to dinner at The Corner Cafe where she ate half of my salad and TWO servings of green beans. It was a beautiful day.

And Jaxon makes FOUR!!

Jaxon's Visitors

Thank you to all of the friends and family who have come to visit Jaxon... we love you all!

Going Home

The Arrival of Jaxon Santiago Lopez...

We checked into the hospital at 8:00 pm on February 16th for a scheduled induction... they started the process around 9. By 10:30 I was having mild contractions that lasted through the night. I made some progress and they started the Pitosin around 6 am. By 7:45 they were administering the epidural and Jax was ready to make his presence known! All in all it was a relatively easy delivery.
Jaxon was born at 9:04 and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. A good sized boy for being 11 days early!

Chicken Pox

Our art teacher, who also happens to be in the class next to me, just called to let me know that she has the chicken pox. I'm almost certain that I've already called the doctor about this once during this pregnancy but I don't remember. So, I guess that I will be making a call to the doctor's office in the morning.

Izzy's Haircut

Isabel got her last haircut while we were in California by her cousin Sandra. After several months it was definitely time for another trim. She did such a good job sitting in her stroller eating her snack. Thank you Andrea for doing such a good job and being so patient. Izzy looks like such a little lady!

Jax's Time Caspule

Last night we had friends and family over to fill Jaxon's time capsule. After everyone had left for the evening I had a brilliant idea that we should have all shared what we brought and the significance... if I only I had thought of it earlier! I did get a chance to look through it... 2009 Grammy nominees cd, US Weekly, People, newspaper clippings, letters, TIME, and even some things from my students. And as I'm writing this post I'm realizing that I didn't thank everyone for coming.

We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and loving family. I encourage each of you to be a part of Izzy and Jax's lives... share with them your knowledge, your wisdom, your compassion, and your faith. Continue to help Hector and I raise children who exhibit each of your best traits and cultivate their faith in the Lord. We love each of you and truly appreciate your friendships and support. THANK YOU y MUCHAS GRACIAS!!

Henry's Tea Room

My friend Shannon hosted a sprinkle for Jax at Henry's Tea Room. It was the most charming location for a bridal or baby shower or just a place to lunch with the girls. Thank you so much to all of you that were able to attend... it was so lovely!

Hector's Masterpiece

Jaxon and Isabel are so blessed to have such a talented Daddy. Hector has worked so hard in making both of their rooms absolutely perfect. It's also something that he "wants" to do... he wants his children to know how much he loves them! Thank you Hector... I love you!
