daddy's birthday

we celebrated daddy's 35th birthday tonight... his only birthday request was a carrot cake baked by mommy! his cake almost caught on fire because it was covered in candles. can you believe he actually blew them all out at once??

trick or treating

we had our first 2 trick or treat outings today! our first stop was downtown lee's summit, followed by a yummy lunch at waldo pizza, and we finished off trick or treating at summit fair. we had such a good time with our friends the baker's and the denney's... thanks for all of your help and of course for the invite!

violet's baby dedication and time capsule celebration

today our family helped us dedicate violet to the lord and promised to help us raise her in a godly fashion. i look at our beautiful violet and am so thankful that god has given us yet another blessing... we are so blessed to have three beautiful, healthy children and we are so thankful. praise the lord!!

after church we had our friends and family over to participate in the "time capsule" celebration for violet. we started this tradition with isabel and it is so much fun... everyone brings something that is relevant to 2011 and that will be interesting to violet when she opens it on her 18th birthday. the plan is to bury all of the time capsules at our next house and the kids will dig them up on their 18th birthday. violet got an US Weekly, PEOPLE magazine, Steve Jobs book, the lyrics to "I Hope You Dance," disney vinylmation, 2011 disneyworld pin, a pregnant pic of me on the 4 wheeler with Em, today's newspaper, church bulletin from today, baby's first christmas ornament, church birth announcement, ticket stub from "puss and boots," and a gold dollar. this time i also took a picture of everyone with their item. in the blink of an eye our little violet will be opening her time capsule!

thank you everyone... xoxo

pumpkin carving

this afternoon we started carving our pumpkins with daddy. well, actually we started watching while daddy carved our pumpkins! he's doing such a great job on ariel and vampire mickey. thanks daddy!

gathering leaves

the very first thing that isabel and jason did this morning was run outside and gather leaves. i'm not even certain what prompted them to do this, but they both had to have a leaf from the gorgeous tree in our yard. and of course they had to pose with their friends.

happy 2 weeks to violet

seriously... its already been 2 weeks since we first met sweet violet! she is such a darling baby whose favorite pastimes are eating and sleeping!

sleeping beauty

it seems as if the only pictures that i get of violet is when she's asleep! here she is all bundled up and dreaming of her first trip to disneyworld!

josephina montoya

she's requested the bed and the goat

isabel got josephina for her birthday and goes crazy when we get a new american girl magazine in the mail. this afternoon she had to bring out the christmas magazine and show me what she would like for christmas... at least she's reasonable in what she picks out!

an afternoon outside

isabel has mastered riding her bicycle with training wheels... she figured this out way too quickly, we don't even have a helmet for her! the bike that she is riding is the bike that i must have gotten for my 4th or 5th birthday and learned to ride on, its come full circle. sadly, jaxon has been riding isabel's ariel tricycle... he might need something of his own for christmas this year.

momma and her babes

just a little snapshot of my three children and i... 3 kids, wow!!

mickey ghosts

working hard

this morning we made mickey ghost cookies in preparation for halloween. the cookies were delicious but seriously fragile... mickey lost a lot of ears. my children absolutely love baking and helping in the kitchen.

puzzles in the morning

the outlaws working together

with 3 children home i've decided that it's wise to have something for the older two to do! on this particular morning we got out our puzzles and all worked together while i fed violet. it was actually perfect because i could feed her and give izzy and jax some time with mom as well. isabel absolutely loved doing her puzzles and must have done her princess puzzle 10 times.

Violet's Sneak Peek...

Take a look at violet's newborn pictures... they are simply scrumptious!

carolyn's country cousins

the kitty cat
isabel and jaxon with their cousins

how ironic is it that isabel and jason visited carolyn's country cousins with their cousins? thank you grandma harness for taking them with you and to danielle for sharing pictures of the outing! jax got his face painted with a pumpkin as well. he told me about how he got his face painted with a pumpkin and then said "I didn't like it" with a scrunched up face... it was adorable!

violet's first bath

it's customary in our house for daddy to give the first bath while mommy takes pictures. violet wasn't very thrilled by her bath, but she was patient. of course izzy and jax had to be there watching every move.

of course we had to go shopping!

on our first day out we also had to hit oak park mall! i had planned on taking a picture of violet on her first trip to gap, but to ally forgot until we were in the van. jax even says lets go to gap now! we were able to take a picture in front of mickey at the disney store... in a short 8 months violet will be making her first trip to see the mouse at his house. so exciting!

violet's first outing

Violet and Great-Grandma (my mom said that Violet looks like her!)
Great-Grandpa and Isabel
Great-Grandma and Jaxon (he runs up the sidewalk, rings the doorbell, and yells for grandma!)

today we went on our first family outing! our first stop was great grandma and grandpa's house. i feel so fortunate that all of my children have been able to meet their great grandparents, not many children get that opportunity. i remember being a little girl and climbing all over my "pappy" and him taking me to tap class in my snow boots! unfortunately, my children won't have that relationship with my "pappy" because of the parkinson's but at least they have had the opportunity to know him. they're also blessed with a great-grandma who makes them gorgeous quilts and adorable burp cloths... how lucky are the lopez kids?
