hector has decided to continue growing his beard, despite my protests... i absolutely hate it! he even has the kids combing it now.

some pretend baking

i was baking 3 different desserts as a reward to my teachers and was in a crazy rush... this meant i wasn't up for baking help from the kiddos. so, they decided to do some pretend baking on their own. one day daddy will open his mexican restaurant and the kids and i will open a bakery next door.

this afternoon we celebrated aunt jackie's birthday with lunch at nana's. we had so much fun playing with cousins and looking at old family photos. the absolute best picture was one of my brother don circa 1980's... he had on a blue and white tank top, white short shorts, and blue tube socks to match his tank top. it was perfection! i must steal the picture and scan it so that i can share, my description doesn't do it justice.

as a mom of 3 am it is so hard to remember to take pictures... especially of the quietest member of the house. we have been so blessed with 3 beautiful, precious children and i am amazed daily at how full of love my heart is for our newest member. she's such a doll.

mommy's birthday

we celebrated mommy's birthday today and went to her very favorite restaurant, ( in KC that is, mommy's VERY, VERY favorite restaurant is the California Grille at disneyworld) Houhlihan's! at the last minute we decided to invite some fam and gave nana and aunt jackie a ring. mommy loved her stuffed chicken and laughed while jax and i learned to play with our straws. sweet violet slept through the entire lunch.

we had our best friends the baker's over tonight and we had a fondue party! it was so much fun... we had marshmallows, pound cake, pretzel chips, oranges, raspberries, and apples to dip in our chocolate. one word, delish. violet even got to sample her very first taste of chocolate but she didn't like it. we can't wait to have another fondue party.

swimming at legacy park

this afternoon the kids and daddy went swimming at legacy park while violet and i hung at poolside. going swimming was a nice little break from the typical winter activities and the kids had a good time splashing around. maybe next time violet can take a dip too, she just needs a new suit!

our fun filled day ended with dinner at chuck e. cheese and opening christmas presents at grandma and grandpa's. the kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and opening presents... thanks for a great night!

josephine got a brand new bed for christmas and abuelita alicia even made her some bed linens! now all she needs is her nightshirt for bedtime. joseohina also got to go and get her hair fixed at the american girl doll store. she got it brushed, detangled, and styled... isabel even got to pick her hairstyle!
