Bath Time!

I got to take a bath with Kaelin after dinner! It was almost as much fun as the park! This was her first time in the big tub and she had a blast!

My afternoon at the park

Mommy, Shannon, and Kaelin had a play date at the park today. This was the first time that I've been to the park since I started walking... it was so cool! My favorite part of the park are the wood chips. I made sure that I had 1 wood chip in my hand at all times. The first time I went to the park i really enjoyed the swing... but, this time I was SCARED!!! I think that this might be the first thing that's really scared me. Other than that we had a great time. I told Kaelin that once she starts walking she'll enjoy the park much more.

Me and my car...

I just love my car that mommy and daddy got me for my birthday.

My NaNa!!

I don't say it nearly enough, but I am so blessed to have my NaNa not 10 minutes away! If my mom has an appointment or somewhere to be my NaNa is always more than willing to come over and hang out with me. A matter of fact we have a standing date every other Tuesday. My mommy forgets to take pictures of NaNa and PaPa because we're with them so much... but, I think that I heard her say she's going to try and do much better. Mommy and me want NaNa how important she is and how much we love her!! We love you!

Mother's Day 2008...

Today we were able to spend time with NaNa, Grandma Harness, and Great Grandma Harness. We even go to go out for 2 lunches!! Thanks Grandpa for my second lunch at the Golden Ox... it was delicious. It's not until you become a mama that you realize all that goes into it. You finally have that "aha" moment when you finally understand why your mom couldn't go to sleep until you were home. Thank you so much mom for helping me to grown into the mother, wife, and woman I am today... I hope that I have made you proud. And to Miss Isabel... one day you to will have that "aha" moment!

One Year Check-Up

Daddy got to take Isabel to her one year check-up on Thursday. I am SO glad that he does this because I cannot bear the shots! Isabel is in the 70%th percentile for her height and her weight... woohoo! We have officially gotten rid of the bottle and formula. She's now drinking whole milk from a cup. Amazingly this was no big deal for her. I had heard stories about kids who refused to give up the bottle and couldn't adjust to the whole milk... I don't think she even noticed! We mixed formula with regular milk for about a week and that was it. She is such a good eater and likes almost everything. I can't imagine where she gets that from!

Unfortunately she has been teething this past week and has been no fun. She seems to like to get up around 3 am and get into bed with mom and dad! Hopefully this won't last much longer!

One Year Pictures

Isabel's one year pictures are now available online for viewing. Here is the link and the directions for viewing...

Once you go to the website click on "client proofs"... At the bottom of the screen there is a place for the password which is isabel_1... you can then view her pictures.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!!!

Southwood's singing telegram team was fortunate enough to sing the national anthem at the Royal's game and it was Raytown night. So, the Lopez family headed out to their first family baseball game. Isabel did wonderfully and was checking out all of the guys sitting behind us... I think that has something to do with how much she adores her father! Isabel also got a special certificate for her first game. I think that we're going to try and go again this summer to a game that doesn't interfere with bedtime!

Thank You!

Hector, Isabel, and I would like to thank everyone who was thinking of Isabel on her birthday! Her party was unforgettable and so much fun. I hope that everyone enjoyed the food and entertainment... Muchas Gracias!!!

One Year Already?

It seems like just yesterday we were at Dr. Pearman's office and she was telling me that I had just earned a ticket to the hospital... Hector almost choked! We had been waiting for this moment for 9 months. We had been so excited for 9 months. We had been ready to meet our daughter for 9 months. And then suddenly I was so scared. In a moment I went from a selfish 20 something to the mother of a gorgeous daughter... and I've loved every moment of the past 365 days! Isabel has blessed our lives in so many ways and I am so thankful to God for giving her to us.

She is such a delightful little girl. I think that God knew how scared I was to become a mom... He knew that I was petrified that I wouldn't know what to do or that I wouldn't do a good job. So, He gave us an amazingly easy little girl. Thank goodness! The only times I've felt overwhelmed is when she is sick or teething... and then my "easy" little girl turns into a small monster!

It is with sadness and joy that I admit that out sweet baby isn't such a baby anymore! Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back Sweet Cheeks!!

The Party...
