Baby Update

It seems as if it were just yesterday that I was coming home from Chicago to tell Hector we were expecting... it has definitely flown by. I had a doctors appointment today and everything is looking and sounding to be right on track. Isabel's mouth opened in shock when she heard the heartbeat! I had been feeling some pains that came much late with Isabel and was slightly concerned that this meant an early arrival for my boy... but, Dr. Pearman assured me that they are because I'm carrying him much lower that Isabel. So, in a short 8 weeks there will be another Mr. Lopez in the house.

Also, Hector and I are planning on doing on a time capsule get together for our son... we're thinking a Saturday in early February. That means get your letters and memorabilia ready for him!

My Hair... YIKES!!

Isabel wandered downstairs again and this is what I found...

My Abby

This is my friend Abby. My mommy has known Abby since she was in her 4th grade class and every once in awhile she comes to visit. I love it when she's here... she plays with me, reads to me, and tells me how cute I am! I guess that the next time Abby comes for a visit my brother will be here!

The joy of choosing a name...

I can't help but laugh when thinking about choosing a name for our son... it has been so tedious. Everyone always has an opinion on the name you have chosen and no one seems to be shy about sharing it with you. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely don't mind... it can just be amusing at times. Choosing a name for your child is such a tremendous undertaking. After all, this is the name that they are going to answer to all of their lives. There are so many aspects to take into consideration. For some reason it was so easy to choose Isabel's name, we had no problems at all. My personal belief is that should ultimately be my decision... I'm the one who has carried him for 40 weeks, the one who threw up virtually everyday, the one who is steadily growing fatter and fatter, I'm the one who pees my pants when I laugh or cough, and not to be forgotten the one who will go through excruciating labor! Why in the world would I not get the final say? Let us not forget that he will be carrying on the Lopez name... not Harness. What more does my husband want? According to our poll results Alejandro was the clear winner... but, I'm sticking with Jaxon!

We had Thanksgiving at our house for the first time this year... it was so nice to stay at home all day. But, I did miss seeing all of my family on the Harness side.

Catch me if you can!

Baking cookies for Daddy!

18 Months!

With every month that passes I grow more aware of how quickly they grow up and how fast the time has gone by. It seems as if every morning my little baby girl grows more into a toddler! She continues to amaze Hector and I every single day with the things that she can do or the words that she can say. Just last night we watched her get a new cd, walk to the cd player, open the cd player, take the old cd out, put the new cd in, close it, and press play... we both just looked at one another and wondered if she's supposed to be able to do that.

Her current best friend is Bailey. When we leave in the morning she tells him bye and as soon as we get home she goes to his door and tells him hi. She takes him toys, looks under the bed for him, plays hide and seek with him, and even yells at him! It is so cute to watch... I'm just hoping that she loves her little brother just as much!

This past week her shoe addiction has blossomed a little more. She constantly has to have some pair of shoes on whether it be her new snowman slippers or her white sandals. What I mean by constantly is that she even sleeps in them! She's always saying "shoe, shoe!"

It seems as if her vocabulary is growing by the day as well. We can start working on a word in the morning and by that night she has it down. Here's some fairly new words... moo, woof, meow, tootsies, sock, shoes, nose, eyes, gracias, adios, si, amen, night night. I know that there's so many more but that's all I can think of first thing in the morning!

Since my belly is growing by the day right along with Izzy I thought it would be good to point out there's a baby in there. Little did I know that to an 18 month old that would translate to there is a baby in her tummy too. She pulls up my shirt point to my belly button and says "Hi Baby" and then does the same to herself. OOPS!

Our hearts are so full of love and she has brought us so many blessings... we can't wait to have that with our little boy as well!

Dress Up!

Isabel has a new fascination with my clothes and tries to put everything on. In the beginning she needed help but now she does a good job by herself.

More Little Mommy...

This is so much better than the video!

Brown Eyed Girl!

This is such a terrible picture of me but such a great shot of my daughter's beautiful brown eyes!

Little Mommy!

Isabel just started changing her bears diaper this past week. She has to take them down to the coffee table and then she puts the left over diapers on a certain place on the couch. Maybe she'll be ready to change her brother's diapers by the time he gets here?

A Sunday evening drive

We got this Leap Frog riding toy for Isabel a few weeks ago. She absolutely loves pushing it all around the house but hasn't quite figured out how to ride on it herself. But, she has figured out how to take Mickey for a ride! The funniest part however is that Mickey has to be sitting just right... his nose can't touch the wheel and his head has to be straight. If everything wasn't perfect she would take Mickey off and bring him to me. Do you think she might have some of mommy's compulsive behaviors? She really is becoming quite the little mommy and we know she's going to be a great big sis!

Watch and Learn!

Isabel is apparently part monkey and absolutely loves climbing on the bench... mommy is a nervous wreck!

It's a...

Here is my baby brother's 1st picture... can you tell that he's a boy??
Mommy made it all the way to school and to Kelly's classroom before she spilled the beans. By the way, Kelly's is the first classroom past the office... she didn't make it very far!

Baby Lopez News...

If you've been around me at all in the past 12 weeks you would know that I have been miserably sick... but, I think that it has finally passed!! We have our first sonogram this Wednesday and are so excited to find out what God has blessed us with. My initial plan has been to not tell anyone the sex of the baby... we'll see if we even make it out of the parking lot without me calling someone.

Happy First Birthday Ashlyn!!

Mommy and I went to Ashlyn's first birthday party today... I had a blast! Mommy took the camera with intentions of taking lots of pictures but I had other plans. I ran all over the Cusick's front yard and even tried to escape to the street. Needless to say, mommy didn't get any pictures. I had a great time eating yummy food and even had a whole piece of cake. Birthday's are the best!

Mommy and Daddy's Night Out...

Mommy and Daddy went to a friend's house for a murder mystery dinner party. When I saw this picture I wondered why they looked so funny... mommy explained to me that it was a 1980's High School reunion theme. Now I get it!!!

My First Haircut...

While we were in California my cousin Sandra gave me my very first haircut. I didn't really know what to think about it... and I still can't figure out why water was spraying me!
