our family

the harness great-grandchildren
the plaid men of the family

most of the harness grandchildren
faith, isabel, and adriane
after hosting lunch at our house we were able to go over to great grandma and grandpa harness's house. we are so, so lucky to know them! here are some pictures of our family with my great- grandpa harness. my great- grandpa has parkinson's disease which is slowly taking him away from everyone who loves him... but, my mom tells me that he loves me and reminds us how fortunate we are to have had the opportunity to know him. you see, there's just something special about my great-grandpa, something that sets him apart from other men. my mom says he has a warm and loving spirit about him, a trait that captured her heart when she was my age. mom told me this story about "pappy" taking her to tap dance class when she was even younger than me... the funny part of the story is that she forgot her tap shoes and had to dance in her snow boots!! please say an extra prayer this evening for my great-grandpa.

thanksgiving at our house

we hosted thanksgiving at our house for nana, papa, uncle don's family, and milton! you'll never believe this, but mommy actually did all of the cooking and the decorating... jax and i were shocked! thanksgiving evening we went over to great grandma and grandpa's house and played. we are soooo lucky that we have been able to have our great grandparents.

red velvet cupcakes

jax and i baked red velvet cupcakes and he enjoyed the fruits of his labor... licking the batter! he and isabel both LOVE helping me bake.

my first sleepover

isabel had her very first friend sleep over. we had waldo pizza for dinner, snacked on popcorn, and watched disney's "a christmas carol." i had such a good time with my bff kaelin.

sick day

both of the kids were sick so we got to have a movie day at home...

singing with the hallelujah kids...

isabel was able to perform at both services with the hallelujah kids... it was adorable! every wednesday evening she goes to dinner and choir practice with nana. unfortunately we had some technical difficulties and didn't get to video the actual singing.

trick or treating 2010

belle and captain jack had a "spooooky" time trick or treating this year. hector hooked up their radio flyer wagon to the 4 wheeler and we were on our way. jax ran up driveways and promptly stuck his hand in candy bowls, it was adorable!

autumn leaves

it's not officially autumn until you have picture of kids playing in the leaves! as we watched the kids play i thought back to isabel's first time playing in the leaves, i can hardly believe it has been so long.

riding the caterpillar

the life of a boy revolves around balls, cars, trucks, climbing on people, getting into everything, and riding anything that will move!

baking our coconut cake

we've been experimenting with baking new goodies and the kids absolutely love to help... so far we've done carrot cake, coconut cake, and a chocolate trifle with blondie brownies. they help measure ingredients, pour ingredients, hold on to the mixer, and most importantly lick the mixer!

our pumpkins

daddy did some excellent work carving our pumpkins this year! we think that he's an expert pumpkin carver.

i'm ready for some fun

i seriously ask myself everyday " how did my little boy get so big?"

halloween at the zoo

the kids and i packed up the radio flyer wagon and headed to the halloween fun at the zoo. they had a valley of bones, haunted hay bales, and even hay rides. i'm beginning to think the perfect time to visit the zoo is in the autumn, it was a perfect day.

i'm beat

we're so fortunate that hector is off 1 day during the week. these are a couple of pictures that hector captured while isabel was asleep in our bed.
