this saturday we had isabel's family birthday dinner and her kid pool party is still a few weeks away! it seems as if it were just yesterday that we were celebrating her first birthday, i'm reminded every single day how quickly time flies with your children. this was the first year that i didn't go over the top decorating for her party, but i did attempt a blue velvet cake to represent ariel's ocean.
we had an amazing afternoon filled with family and two of our dearest friends. thank you so much to everyone who has been and continue to be a part of isabel's life, we are so grateful to each of you! our little sweet cheeks will soon be graduating from preschool and entering kindergarten.
we love you sweet cheeks!

easter 2012
violet's first easter
another first holiday for our sweet violet. i was able to get a few pictures of her in the easter dress before i had to change her... another blowout for violet. violet started off her first easter with an easter service at our church, followed by lunch at nana's, and ended with dinner at great grandma and grandpa's.
i have to post some pics of Isabel in this exact same dress on her first easter!
the eggs
don't you hate it when you forget to dye the eggs until 8:00 pm the night before easter, i know that i sure do! hector and the kids worked on decorating the eggs while i finished up the carrot cake and broccoli cauliflower salad. they always have a blast decorating the eggs with daddy. i'm actually not sure who has more fun.
the first easter egg hunt
laney's birthday
isabel's bff laney had her 5th birthday party at the roller skating rink, how fun is that! since neither isabel nor jaxon have ever been in roller skates i decided to go with bikes rather than roller skates... definitely not attempting that with 3 kids! isabel and jax both had a blast riding around the rink. happy birthday laney.
Violet's first trip to the zoo
we started our saturday afternoon with a lovely lunch at the zoo! let me tell you, the place was packed... we must have driven around for 10 minutes looking for a parking spot. hector made us yummy sandwiches and surprised us with delicious chocolate chip cookies. the kids loved riding the carousel and seeing all of the animals. i just ordered our FOTZ pass day so violet will have many, many more trips!
