this year we decided that we would spend daddy's birthday in colorado. we've been spending a lot of time in colorado lately, a matter of fact we love colorado. for this trip, we decided to be completely spontaneous and surprise joanna and daniel, that's right folks… they had no idea that we were coming! we all had parent teacher conferences and we started driving as soon as mommy finished up with hers. we usually don't drive at night, but we realized that this was the perfect time. the little people slept the entire time there, and so did mommy.
things didn't really go as planned in colorado. maybe that's what we get for trying to be spontaneous. the pumpkin patch that we visited had ZERO pumpkins left in the field. But, at least there were mountains as a beautiful backdrop.
on saturday, we decided to visit the train museum and do their "trick or treat" train. sounds like a lot of fun right? I mean, who doesn't want to go trick or treating on a train… but, we only got ONE piece of candy. What kind of trick or treat is that?
On Sunday, we wanted to go to see the changing leaves of the aspen trees on a drive to aspen. that's going to be gorg right? Only problem, all the trees were bare:-( We were able to have a fab picnic in a park in breckenridge, which partially made up for the "no leaves."
we were able to end our trip with a beautiful hike in evergreen. this is the kind of thing that makes this momma want to relocate to colorado… it's so beautiful. Who knows, maybe the fab 5 will make a little move.
